In recent years, as free-to-play games like Fortnite andApex Legends have gained popularity, the notion that "online games should be free" has become widely accepted in the industry. However, Sloclap, the developer behind Sifu, is challenging this trend with their upcoming 5v5 competitive soccer game REMATCH. They are sticking to a $30 price tag and are confident in their decision.

Sloclap's Creative Director mentioned in an interview with PC Gamer: "The key to commercial success is creating an exceptional game. I've never considered the free-to-play model."

This perspective is backed by recent market data. The $30 priced games "Helldivers 2" and "Palworld" have significantly outsold many AAA titles, demonstrating that players are more inclined to pay for quality content.

Analysts have noted that in the fiercely competitive gaming market, AA studios are starting to challenge the dominance of free-to-play games through unique designs and fair pricing. Building on the positive reception of Sloclap's earlier title "Sifu," "REMATCH" is poised to be another success story for mid-budget games.

The action-packed football game "REMATCH" is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms on June 19. Public testing will take place on April 18 and 19.
