Hideo Kojima has announced that the action espionage game "PHYSINT" from Kojima Productions will mark the beginning of the studio's "second phase".
In a recent episode of Kojima Productions Radio, Hideo Kojima announced that after finishing the development of "Death Stranding 2" and "OD", Kojima Productions will move into "Phase Two" with a project called "PHYSINT". He described this action-espionage game as an attempt to merge the worlds of film and video games. Moreover, he disclosed that as part of Phase Two, he will also be working on an animated production.

From what he said, it seems this project is still in its very early concept phase. As a result, "PHYSINT" is probably being developed for the next-gen PlayStation hardware.
However, Hideo Kojima's fans need not be disappointed. The renowned game director's upcoming title, "Death Stranding 2," is less than three months away from release. In the same radio broadcast, he mentioned that the development progress of this highly anticipated action-adventure game is currently at 95%. Kojima's exact words were: "It's about 95% done now... It feels like it's around 10 PM (if we compare a 24-hour day to the game's development progress), 'Death Stranding 2' is at 10 PM, with two hours remaining."
Regarding "OD," little information has been revealed about the game other than it will be as "experimental" as Kojima's 2003 action-adventure RPG "Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand." Kojima is well-known for creating unconventional games like stealth-based titles where players must infiltrate buildings undetected or delivery-based games where players enjoy free movement within an open world. However, his most experimental game involved using actual sunlight to defeat vampires outside your home—a unique mechanic in "Boktai." When developing this game, he faced strong opposition from both his team and within his company. Similarly, he stated that "OD" will also be distinctive and innovative.
